Our Story

Bianca Photo Shoot sept 2025 27.jpg

My name is Margie Sullivan. I am a proud Aboriginal woman living on Darkinjung Country.

I first began weaving when I had the honour of working on beautiful Yonglu County in East Arnhem Land.

Seeing the beautiful weaving done by the Aunties at Ramingining  I knew that I was destined to become a weaver.  I learnt the processes of collection, stripping and dyeing of pandanus leaves before weaving the fibre.

When I returned home I had developed a passion for weaving and now weave with an assortment of materials including Pine Needles, Casuarina Needles, Native Grasses, Lemongrass , palm leaves and more.

I have enjoyed learning and sharing this traditional and cultural activity.

As well as weaving , I make other items from  Native Seeds, Seed Pods and Gum Nuts. The majority of these are sustainably sourced and collected by Aboriginal families on Arrante Country

My Business, Woven on Country began trading in 2023 and has grown and continues to grow.

Thank you for visiting my shop
